HEA Donations Support Maui Schools

May 20, 2024

After the devastating Maui wildfires last August, many here in Hawaii as well as those in other states were moved with concern and compassion for the educators, students, and their families of Lahaina schools.

Aloha from Washington State
HEA’s sister organizations in Washington State showed their outpouring of support. The Everett Education Association donated $1,500, and the Issaquah Education Association gave $500.

HEA Adds More to the Pot
HEA members also gave nearly $1,320. HEA contributed an additional $500 for the wildfire victims, raising the final total to $3,820 to help educators, students, and their families in Lahaina focus on accessing quality education during a challenging period.

HEA divided the total into four checks of $950 each for King Kamehameha III Elementary, Lahaina Intermediate School, Lahainaluna High School, and Princess Nahienaena Elementary School.

Mahalo to all those who contributed to help meet the immediate needs of the impacted Lahaina schools and to support their rebuilding and recovery efforts!
